Easy Fit Raglan Llama Jumper

METHOD

BACK

With MC and 3.25mm needles c/on 75 (80, 85, 90, 95) sts.

Row 1: *k3, p2, rep from * to the end of the row.

Row 2: (WS) *k2, p3, rep from * to the end of the row.

Row 3, 5, 7, 9: *k3, p2, rep from * to the end of the row.

Row 4, 6, 8, 10: *k2, p3, rep from * to the end of the row. **

Change to 4.00mm and continue in stocking stitch until work measures 25 (28, 31, 33, 36) cm from cast on edge, ending with a purl row.

Shape Raglan

C/off 2 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. 71 (76, 81, 86, 91) sts.

Sizes 4, 6, 8, 10 only:

Next row: k2, ssk, knit to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.

Work 3 rows stocking stitches. [71 (74, 79, 84, 89) sts]

Rep last 4 rows (0, 2, 2, 4) times.

[71 (74, 75, 80, 81) sts].

All sizes

Next row: k2, ssk, knit to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.

Next row: purl.

Rep last two rows until 33 (38, 43, 42, 43) sts rem.

Place rem sts on a stitch holder.

FRONT

Work as for back until. **

Change to 4.00mm needles.

Continue in st st. Work 8 (10, 10, 10, 12) rows, ending with a purl row.

Place Llama graph in the centre of the next row. The centre is marked by a red square in the graph. Use Intarsia method of changing colours. Follow graph and complete garment as follows.

Continue until work measures 25 (28, 31, 33, 36) cm from c/on edge. End with a purl row.

Shape Raglan

C/off 2 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. 71 (76, 81, 86, 91) sts.

SLEEVES

With MC and 3.25mm needles c/on 35 (40, 40, 45, 45) sts.

Row 1: *k3, p2, rep from * to the end of the row.

Row 2:  *k2, p3, rep from * to the end of the row.

Row 3, 5, 7, 9: *k3, p2, rep from * to the end of the row.

Row 4, 6, 8, 10: *k2, p3, rep from * to the end of the row.

Change to 4.00mm needles and work 2 rows stocking stitch.

Next row: k2, m1, knit to last 2 sts, m1, k2. [37 (42, 42, 47, 47) sts].

Inc one st at each end of foll 4^th (6^th, 6^th, 8^th, 6^th) rows until there are 43(52, 50, 63, 53) sts, then in foll   6^th (8^th, 8^th, 10^th, 8^th) rows until there are 55 (60, 62, 67, 71) sts.

Cont in st st without further shaping until sleeve measures 23 (28, 33, 38, 40) cm from cast on edge, ending with a purl row.

Shape Raglan

C/off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows.

Sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8 years only

Row 1: k2, ssk, k to last 4 sts, ktog, k2.

Row 2: p2, p2tog, p to last 4 sts, p2togtbl, p2.

Row 3: as row 1.

Row 4: purl.

Rep last 4 rows 1 (2, 2, 0) times.

Size 10 only

Row 1: k2, ssk, k to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.

Work 3 rows in stocking st.

Stitch count: 39 (38, 40, 63, 63) sts

Dec one st at each end of next and foll alt rows until 9 (10, 10, 11, 11) sts rem.

End with a purl row.

Leave rem sts on a stitch holder for neckband.

NECKBAND

Join raglan seams.

With MC and using 3.25mm DPNS or 3.25mm Circs, beg at right back raglan sleeve seam, work across sts from stitch holders as follows:

33 (38, 43, 42, 43) sts from back neck, 9 (10, 10, 11, 11) sts from sleeve, 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) sts from front, 15 (17, 17, 17, 21) sts along left side of neck, 17 (18, 23, 24, 25) sts from centre front stitch holder, 15 (17, 17, 17, 21) sts along right side of neck, 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) sts from front, 9 (10, 10, 11, 11) sts from sleeve. [102 (116, 126, 128, 138) sts]

Knit 1 round increasing 3 (4, 4, 2, 2) sts evenly. [105 (120, 130, 130, 140) sts]

Round 1: *k3, p2, rep from * to the end of the round.

Rep last round 9 times.

C/off loosely.

FINISHING

Join side seams and underarm seams.

Sew away any ends.

Embroider Llama eye with a duplicate stitch or French knot in black.
